Ohio State beats Texas with emphatic Cotton Bowl win

Ohio State closed out its regular season with a disappointing win against rival Michigan, and whether that’s been motivation or not, the Buckeyes have turned this around and not looked back.

Thanks to a late 83-yard scoop and score on a critical fourth down in the final quarter, Ohio State rolled to a 28-14 win over Texas in the Cotton Bowl and advanced to the College Football Playoff national title game for a date with Notre Dame.

With Texas down by one touchdown and just over two minutes to play, Quinn Ewers dropped back to throw on fourth-and-goal from the 8-yard line but was hit as he threw by Jack Sawyer, who then alertly picked up the loose ball and brought it back all the way for a touchdown.
