Florida mansion once asking $7.4M to be auctioned in January
Call it a “Whopper” of a deal.
Two Burger King franchisees have chosen to auction off their Florida mansion on Hutchinson Island that was last listed for $7.4 million, Mansion Global reports.
The online sale — to be handled by Interluxe Auctions — will officially begin on Jan. 13 with a $2 million starting bid.
The sellers of the Mediterranean-style residence are Sarah and James Cammilleri, who run a Burger King franchise empire through JCS Management Group — overseeing nearly 60 franchise locations mostly in the northeastern US.
They bought the residence for $1.6 million in 2017 and spent more than $1 million for outdoor area upgrades.
The Cammilleris opted for the auction route because it will give them sale certainty, as opposed to waiting on the open market to bring them a buyer.
The four-bedroom spread faces the Intracoastal Waterway. Taking advantage of its perch, a bean-shaped salt water pool runs along the waterfront. Outside, there’s also an al fresco kitchen and bar, and a 105-foot dock with two boat lifts.
The family’s updates to the outdoor area included big pool upgrades. Now, it has a hot tub with seats for up to 15, new resurfacing, cabanas and a beach area with a fire pit. The bar and kitchen area was also dressed with cristallo stone from Brazil.
As for the home, it dates to 1996 and runs 6,515 square feet. There are four bedrooms, a game room, a double-height great room with views of the water and an attached garage.
Marketing images show glam white interiors, an open kitchen that faces the great room and massive window exposures.
